Current PracticeHayden Scott is a Director of Greenwoods & Freehills.Industry ExperienceHayden advises listed entities in energy, natural resources, financial services, beverages, and entertainment on M&A and general corporate tax matters.His areas of expertise include the taxation of financial arrangements (including debt-equity and foreign exchange), tax consolidation, capital gains tax, capital allowances and tax losses. Professional BackgroundHayden began his career with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in 1991. During 1998-99, he was a member of the Secretariat to the Review of Business Taxation, chaired by Mr John Ralph AO, responsible for the review of business income and deductions. Hayden was Tax Counsel to the ATO when he left in 2000. Before joining Greenwoods & Freehills in 2008, Hayden was a Partner with Shaddick & Spence.He is a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia (TIA), an affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. He is also a member of the National Taxation Liaison Group Finance & Investment Subcommittee, the TIA Corporate Subcommittee and the TIA Education Committee. Hayden frequently presents and is regularly published on corporate income tax matters. |
